Midtown Anniversary T-Shirt Design Contest

In honor of Midtown's 10th birthday this fall, we are launching a T-shirt design contest!

Promote wellness while showing off your design skills. Plus, the winning designer will have his or her design printed on our T-shirts!

Ask questions about the contest, view submissions and vote for your favorite designs on Facebook. Fans will also get the first glimpse of the winning designs!

Design Guidelines

We are looking for designs that are fabulously eye-catching and creative, but also wearable and practical. Design something you would be proud to wear yourself. Designs should incorporate the YWCA brand in some way - either through our color palette, wellness imagery, or the YWCA logo.

When designing, keep in mind the following:

1. YWCA color scheme + YWCA logo or logotype
2. Up to 6 colors are allowed, but less = more. If you can do a fabulous design in 1 color, this will give you a leg up in the competition
3. Designs can fit ANYWHERE on the T-shirt body (except seams), and creative use of the T-shirt space is encouraged.

Submit your Design

1. Email your submissions to rpalomo@ywcampls.org
2. Submit designs as jpegs or gifs, at 72 dpi, no larger than 500X500
3. Include your name, email address, phone number and a short description of your concept.
4. Designs that are selected as finalists will need to be available as Illustrator/vector artwork or high-res raster files in CYMK or spot colors for printing, so please bear this in mind when creating your designs.
5. Submission deadline is August 10, 2010

Rules and Prizes

1. You can enter as many designs as you like
2. Jurying will be done anonymously and designs will be selected on the basis of merit and feasibility
3. All finalists (3) will receive a copy of the winning T-shirt design. The winning designer will also receive a YWCA gift certificate for $150, 1st runner up will receive a $50 YWCA gift certificate and the 2nd runner up will receive a $25 YWCA gift certificate. These certificates can be used on any service/product of the YWCA of Minneapolis.
4. You can not infringe on anyone's copyright with your design, and by entering the competition, you agree that your work is your own
5. By entering the competition, you agree to give the YWCA of Minneapolis non-exclusive rights to publish your work on our website and/or use your design on our T-shirt
