Description

Job Summary
Responsible for developing and implementing a high quality, nurturing, anti-bias, developmentally appropriate environment and curriculum for a diverse classroom. Maintain a safe environment for children to by hiring and supervising staff which provides quality care. This position is also responsible for the daily care and nurturing of a primary care group of children and reporting the child's progress in social, physical, emotional, and cognitive development to parents/guardians.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education (ECE), elementary education or equivalent education in another field with 36 credits in ECE plus 4160 hours in classroom experience.
  • Minimum of one year supervisory or management experience, Ability to manage and assign responsibilities and work to direct reports
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize the daily routines, activities, and curriculum for the classroom children and staff.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to carry out responsibilities independently but also in a team setting.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem and conflict management skills.

Preferred:

  • One to two years experience creating and effectively implementing age appropriate activities and curriculum, highly preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR Certified.
  • License in Birth - 3rd grade or Pre-K.
