It's Time to Talk Forums on Race

Join us for the 8th annual It's Time to Talk Forums on Race luncheon on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. This dynamic event will expand your understanding of differences through personal dialogue among members of different cultures and ethnicities, with the ultimate goal of making a commitment to eliminate racism.

Last year, over 1,100 racially diverse civic leaders - from local business, education, government, service oriented, arts and faith communities - came together to talk about racism and commit to taking action against it. You will be inspired by key note speaker Dr. Julianne Malveaux then engage in a professionally facilitated dialogue on improving race relations.

Circle of Women Luncheon

Inspiring stories. Fabulous fashion. And purses ranging from a signed Debbie Brooks evening bag to an urban messenger tote made from recycled sail cloth. All this for you and 1,200 of your closest friends!

That was Circle of Women 2010, a fundraising luncheon that raised money for YWCA of Minneapolis programs that change lives every day!

We wish to thank all our supporters, sponsors and volunteers who made this event a success!

Event highlights include:

  • An amazing video of children and youth involved with the YWCA telling their stories - in their own words. See the video here!
  • Orange carpet and Orange shoes! Circle of Women leaders could be easily spotted in their distinctive array of festive orange shoes!
  • A Special Event and a Special Circle Challenge! Many very special donors stepped forward with gifts of $500 or more, bringing in a matching gift from an anonymous donor!
  • Last year's banners; this year's fashion! 32 distinctive hand-made purses were created by Heidi Comfort Couture using banners from Circle of Women 2009. Now THAT'S recycling with style!
