Youth Fitness

Youth Fitness offer something for children and youth ages 1 to 13. There are free Group classes, as well as fee-based Specialized classes.

Class Schedules

Youth Group classes are free to youth/family members. Specialized classes have an additional fee and require advance registration.

Youth Group Fitness Classes

These classes are included in your membership and cover a wide age and activity range, designed to be engaging, encouraging and fun for everyone!

  • These are drop in classes - no registration required,
  • Class numbers will be limited for safety,
  • Parents are not required to stay in the room during class unless child needs assistance; all parents must remain on site.

Youth Group Class Descriptions

Art & Crafts
Ages: 4-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Bring your creativity! We will draw, use watercolor, paint or make paper crafts. We will complete a new project each week.
Big Gym
Ages: 5-12 yrs
Class Length: 90 mins

Fit Kids Gym moves to the big gym! The gym is a great space for kids to get exercise and play large group games. This is a perfect time for families to come and play! (Note: This class is on summer break.)
Creative Movement
Ages: 24 mos - 5 yrs

This class is designed to encourage your child to express themselves as well as to learn fundamental motor skills and movements. We will have fun with music and songs, learning the names of our muscles and bones and using our imagination to explore the space. Dance terms will be used during the class as the students warm up, move across the floor, and learn choreography. We will also practice skills such as; forming and keeping a line, sharing props, and taking turns talking.
Flip Flops -N- Fun
Ages: 2 1/2 - 5 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

This class explores gymnastics skills with the use of games and basic tumbling. Kids will have fun building and going through obstacle courses that incorporate the skills learned.
Flips, Flops N Games
Ages: 5-12 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Youth will learn and work on more advanced mat tumbling such as head stands and front limbers. We also have fun with activities and games including relay races and obstacle courses.
Fundamentals of Dance
Ages: 7-12 yrs
Class Length: 40 mins

This class will incorporate fundamentals of ballet and jazz dance using dance studio format. Simple yoga poses and body isolation exercises will complete your warm up and then we will move into basic dance movements like leaps and turns. By the end of class you will have completed a short dance sequence and finish with a cool down. Come meet some new friends! (Note: This class is on summer break.)
Game Zone
Ages: 5-12 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Let them run. Let them play. The big gym becomes a playground with staff leading games and supporting cooperative play. We will play sports like soccer or hockey plus other various group games. (Note: This class is on summer break.)
GO! Group Training for Youth
Ages: 9-13 yrs
Class Length: 60 mins

It is important that youth understand what exercises are safe for their age and learn correct form in order avoid injury. Certified trainers will teach age-appropriate exercises using cardio equipment, body-weight exercises and other fitness equipment. Youth will also benefit from team building skills, motivation and exercising with new friends. Sports, games and nutrition will also be a part of their workout. Registration at the Hospitality desk is required. You must complete a Youth Fitness Orientation before starting this class.
Move and Groove
Ages: 3-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

The goal of this class is to allow kids to have fun through large muscle movement and build teamwork skills. Age appropriate exercises are infused with games and activities to engage the mind and body. Music is incorporated to teach movement to music.
Music & Movement
Ages: 24 mos - 5 yrs
Class Length: 60 mins

Kids will get a chance to learn and play different instruments, sing songs and play games. Favorite activities include monkey in the middle and the hokey pokey. Language and counting may be incorporated in class. This is a great beginner class. We suggest parent participation with the younger age range.
Pee Wee Sports
Ages: 3-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

We will focus on large motor skills and practice basic sport fundamentals. Kids will kick, throw, run, jump and catch. The goal is to get your child active by having fun with sports.
Twinkle Toes
Ages: 3-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Drop in and see what the excitement is all about. Dancers will learn a variety of fundamental dance skills and have fun with rhythm, technique and games. (Note: This class is on summer break.)

Youth Specialized Fitness Classes

These classes allow small groups to learn and grow their skills together over time. Every session we offer a mix of old favorites and new and upcoming fitness options. These classes are progressive and require registration and payment. See Specialized Information for rates and registration information.

Youth Specialized Class Descriptions

Kung Fu - Young Masters
Ages: 7-13 yrs

This class introduces children to the art of Kung Fu. Parents, Kung Fu is a full body performance art that develops all the traits of a capable, balanced exerciser. Everyone can feel good about trying Kung Fu! It is a great challenge for active youth, and a great alternative for kids who are turned off by conventional sports. As we progress through the basic stances, youth will work alone as part of the group. This teaches teamwork, focus, and coordination. Then, working in pairs, the Young Masters will discover their space and learn sensitivity through light-contact drills. (Note: This class is on summer break.)
Sports Academy
Ages: 5-8 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

This is a class for young sports fanatics! The goal is to learn how to play 3-4 different sports over the course of the 8 week session. Each sport will be broken down by fundamental skills and will be taught progressively. The instructor will move on as each skill is learned and focus on having fun, good sportsmanship and teamwork.
Tap, Jazz & Ballet Tykes
Ages: 2-4 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Kids will learn the basics of tap, jazz and ballet including turns, jumps and floor work. This is a great class because kids get a good foundation of these three different types of dance. They will experience how the steps and actions they learn become dance routines to music. They also love doing the performance at the end of the last class. A Spring theme will be incorporated into classes.
Tennis - Beginning
Ages: 7-12 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

Lessons are geared towards beginning players looking to get into the game. Basic skills, etiquette and rules are covered using drills and fun games. Bring your racquet or one will be provided for you. (Note: This class is on summer break.)
Tumbling Masters
Ages: 5-9 yrs*
Class Length: 45 mins

This is a fun and exciting class that improves coordination, agility and heightens concentration. Learn and refine mat gymnastic skills such as handstands, backbends, round offs and walkovers. Skills on the balance beam will also be incorporated. There will be one on one interaction in order to progress to different skill levels. Come watch our Mini-Olympics during the last class. *Age 5 should have prior tumbling experience.
Tumbling Tykes
Ages: 3-5 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

This is an introduction to mat gymnastics. Youth will learn basic skills like rolls, donkey kicks, bridges and cartwheels. Kids will also do balance beam exercises. The instructor will build a routine using curriculum that explores movement and builds coordination. Come watch our Mini-Olympics during the last class.
Yogafit Kids
Ages: 3-7 yrs
Class Length: 45 mins

In Yogafit Kids we will act out songs and stories and use games to learn yoga poses. We will stretch our imaginations and have fun as we increase body awareness, improve strength and coordination. This class is also great to learn relaxation and concentration.
