Otters Practice Groups

Otters are split into several training groups. These groups often work together, providing mentoring and team-building opportunities. Practice groups are flexible from month to month, but a swimmer should stay in the same practice group over the course of a single month. Junior Otters and Otters are offered at all practice times.

Junior Otters

Made for swimmers new to the sport of swimming. Junior Otters focuses on making the introduction to the sport as fun and easy as possible! Practices focus on learning technique and confidence through demonstration, drills and games. Junior Otters progress through skills at a pace they can manage, while building team relationships and understanding of the sport along the way.

Otters

This is a practice program for younger swimmers who perhaps aspire to eventual Senior Otters participation or older swimmers who are looking for a milder practice schedule in comparison to Seniors. Otters are coached to develop their long-term strength in the sport and activity of swimming through aerobic training, detailed work on stroke mechanics, and dryland training, Otters build knowledge of swimming that will last for life. Competition is optional.

Senior Otters

This is our elite level program. Senior Otters are the only group with a required practice schedule and strength training program. Swimmers must be 13 years of age or older in order to participate in Senior Otters.

Attendance Policies

Junior Otters and Otters are invited to attend up to three practices per week at any of our three locations. There is no practice requirement at this level. Please let us know in advance if for some reason the child needs to come to a different practice than the regular time and we will easily accommodate them.

Senior Otters have chosen their level of program- they have made a commitment to swimming and are expected at all designated Senior Otters practices on a regular basis to fulfill that commitment.
