Silent Auction Rules & Guidelines
Printable Format: You can also view and print a PDF version of these guidelines to take with you!
- The silent auctions begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. The purse auction closes at 11:50 a.m. and Almost Live! closes at 12:20 pm. Any bid placed after the closing time is invalid.
- Each auction item has an item number and a bid sheet located on the auction table. To bid, clearly print your name, table number, and bid amount on the corresponding bid sheet.
- All items have a minimum bid and a minimum increase. Bids not adhering to these guidelines are invalid. Almost Live! bidders have an option to bid a maximum amount to “Take it Off the Table” to secure a purchase and remove it from further bidding. A bid is a contract to buy.
- Auction volunteers are available to help you.
- Winning bidders will be notified with a receipt during the luncheon.
- All winning bids must be paid on May 1, 2008 with VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash or check. Please have payment ready at check-out or present your paid receipt to the volunteers at the designated pick-up area.
- Any amount paid over the fair market value may be considered tax-deductible contribution. Stated values are in some cases estimates and are provided for buyer’s guidance only. Please consult your own tax advisor for tax consequences of your purchase.
- All purchases become the responsibility of the buyer upon payment and may only be picked up after the luncheon. You may not pick up your purse prior to the event’s end.
*Note: We have made every effort to describe items accurately. Everything in auction is being sold “where is” and “as is” without warranty or representation of any kind to its correctness of description, authenticity or condition. It is understood that all items acquired by the buyer become sole responsibility of the buyer. The YWCA of Minneapolis, Circle of Women Steering Committee and donors will incur no liability.
