Relay Teams
» Masters Relay Team Page In January 2007, several swimmers tried out to be part of the YWCA Channel Challenge relay teams. All swimmers trying out had to be previous YWCA swimmers. All swimmers were put through a rigorous tryout process that included an endurance swimming test, a cold-water tolerance test, and a personal interview to demonstrate their committment to the Swim for Change campaign. Eight swimmers comprised the Otters Relay Team, and six swimmers were selcted for the Masters Relay Team. In addition to building the physical and mental strength necessary to complete the Channel relay swim, these swimmers also worked together to raise awareness of racial disparities in swimming, asn over $70,000 for the Swim for Change campaign. |
